Vaginal candidiasis or thrush is a yeast infection of the vagina. It is fairly common in women and can be treated both topically or orally. Speak to your doctor about a suitable thrush ointment and if this is not effective then you may need to consider using a pills specifically for the thrush infection. Although many women attempt to treat it on their own, without medical supervision, it can just lead to a persistent or recurrent infection. It is therefore advisable that you see your doctor about this rather than just buying an over-the-counter product. Your doctor may also be able to identify possibly contributing factors that may be leading to the thrush and take the necessary measures which will help prevent future recurrences.
