had adenocarcinoma tumor in upper right lung lobe removed with five lymph nodes of which one had cancer cells.and the pathology said no extracapsular extension present.

    It describes whether the spread is extending beyond the capsule of the lymph node. In this case the affected node did not show any signs of the cancer cells extending beyond the capsule (outer part of the node). The significance of this will be explained by your doctor/oncologist. These questions should be directed at your oncologist as it is important to consider it in the context of your entire case.
