The survey, conducted by the British Heart Foundation, shows that almost 73 percent youngsters( aged 8-15) were ignorant of the fact junk foods can possibly reduce their life span.

While 45 percent seemed to believe that developing tooth problem, increasing body weight and getting spots were the only problems that could occur because of these foods.

Some studies suggest that more than two thirds of children would be overweight by 2050.

Currently, nearly one-third of young (aged 10-11) are overweight. Experts have shown concerned over it and say that nowadays children might have a shorter life span than their parents had.

In this survey 1,100 children were included and when they were asked about their expected age, 56 percent predicted that they would live over 80 years, while 11% said that they would be over 100.

“ Eating junk food may give spots and put you on weight, but these things don’t bother me as future is a far off thing to worry about,” says 11 years old Ryan Bolton.

To assist children in making good food choices, BHF has launched an online game named Yoobot.
