Nail is a horn like structure on the edge of the fingers; to have long nails though is a symbol of feminism. Fingernails and the toenails are made up of a protein called ‘keratin’.

There are no nerve endings in the nail. The growth of nails is at an average rate of 3 millimeters per month. For the complete growth of the finger nails the maximum time required will be three to six months.
