The odor is a combination of factors and involves bacteria on the skin, perspiration and possibly a fungal infection. Hygiene is one component but does not always provide a complete solution. You should look at using an antibacterial soap, along with a drying powder if you have excessive sweating of the feet. Any fungal infections need to be identified by a doctor and treated. Sometimes these infections can grow slightly under the nail and is therefore missed. If you have any underlying skin diseases or other systemic disorders that could be affecting the health of your legs and feet in particular, then this needs to be treated. This may be the reason why you are experiencing different sensations and surface temperature of the feet. Often the problem lies with the shoes as well as sufficient bacteria are within it so some footwear like running shoes may need to be replaced.
