Snoring may arise for a number of reasons and you should see an ENT specialist who can examine you further and make a diagnosis. It may be due to nasal congestion, acid reflux, obesity or structural changes that are occurring for a number of reasons. A doctor will be able to advise you further but the one factor that is in your control now is weight loss, if you have gained weight over recent years. This is actually a very common cause of snoring and often ignored by patients who desperately look for other reasons for their snoring. Speak to your family doctor first and then follow up with an ENT specialist.
