You need to speak to the doctor who prescribed this medication as he/she has seen the rash and obviously reached a diagnosis. From the medication that you mention this is most likely a bacterial infection that could have arisen secondary to some underlying skin disease or occurred on its own. You have also been prescribed an antihistamine to possible help relieve the itching but if it is not helping you need to speak to your doctor again. Scratching will possibly reinfect the area. If it is persisting despite other treatment by your doctor, then you should see a dermatologist. It is difficult to say exactly what type of rash you have but your doctor will be in a position to advise you further.
