The pain on its own is difficult to identify and the presence of other symptoms would give a better indication. Remember that there are various organs in the abdominal cavity that could be responsible. This could be due to conditions affecting the colon; ureters or bladder; uterus, fallopian tubes or ovaries in women, or referred pain from higher up the abdomen or lower down in the pelvis.

Some of the causes may include a urinary tract infection, polycystic ovarian syndrome or pelvic inflammatory disease in women, inflammatory bowel disease, infectious colitis and so on. As you can see, there are various possibilities. You need to see a doctor who can examine you, possibly run further tests and then reach a diagnosis. Your past medical history, current health status, age, gender and so on are all relevant when assessing your case.
