why do i get a pain in my left side of my chest underneath my breast when i breath in sometimes it hurts real bad then i hold my breath for like 2 seconnds and it goes away it dont happen that much but it hurts when it does. I also slouch alot and dont sit properly could it be because of that?

    Posture could cause it but then it would be more noticeable in certain positions or during specific movements. This is more likely due to the airways and is sometimes reported in the early stages of COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease)which is more common in smokers.

    It could also be related to the diaphragm, esophagus or stomach. You should suspect the esophagus and stomach if you have other gastrointestinal symptoms. There is also a possibility that it is related to the chest wall – skin, muscle, ribs and this would be noticed by pain upon applying pressure on the area (independent of breathing).

    You should see a doctor and possibly start off with a chest x-ray.
