Bones Joints and Muscles1 Comment

I was in an accident 7 years ago and broke C4, C5 + C6. I’m now 50 years old and recently started having problems with my hands. Can’t make a fist as my middle finger on both hands won’t bend more than a slight curve. It hurts when I try to bend them. Could this be related to the broken neck?

It could be related to the injury but it is essential that you exclude other neurological and muscular disorders. It may even be a condition affecting the small joints of your hands although to be isolated to the middle finger only is unlikely. Given your age, some of the conditions are more likely to occur at this stage of life. Early diagnosis and treatment can make a significant difference in the prognosis. If this is found to be related to your injury then the appropriate measures, possibly even surgery if necessary, will have to be considered. You should try to see a neurologist as soon as possible.
