I had elbow surgery about 12 wks ago and now I have RDS I am currently in physical therapy and pain meds. Its been recommended I have the sympathetic nerve block. how well dose it work and will it take the pain totally away and for how long?

    Your doctor should be addressing any concerns you have as a lot depends on your case history itself. I assume it is your upper limb, on which you had the surgery, that is affected. Generally, a sympathetic nerve block works very well and pain may go away totally. Usually a nerve block is advised as soon as possible. I would however advise that you seek a second opinion from another neurologist before considering any other treatment modalities given you history of surgery. You may be experiencing some other complication related to your recent surgery.
