This is very likely related to a pinched nerve, possibly at the level of where it emanates from the spinal cord (nerve root compression). In conditions like diabetes mellitus, poorly managed and long standing cases, nerve damage may occur. This is known as diabetic neuropathy and affects the peripheral nerves at first. These symptoms could also be related to certain nutrient deficiencies, nerve diseases, alcohol abuse and the use of certain medication. You should see your doctor as soon as possible so that further investigations can be conducted and possible causes isolated.
