The body shaper is made with a stretch lace material with overlapping cross to enhance body toning and support. It smoothes out bulges and bumps of skin and makes the wearer appear to be an inch smaller. It makes a good fit for women who have a baby leftover bulge that won’t disappear.

Overweight women who are experiencing pain on their backs are encouraged to put them on because it makes them feel more comfortable, look better and help reduce the back pains.

women shape wear have brought back confidence to many women who are a bit ashamed of their body sizes and shapes. Forget having to go on a diet or hitting the trend mill, the results brought by this costume are visible and instant! It fits well under any clothe being worn and rewards you with even, sexy and smooth curves that no man ca resist to ogle.

Women of underdeveloped countries die during childbirth 300 times more than the women live in the rich countries, UNICEF said in a press release.

“They divide between industrialized countries and developing countries — particularly the least developed countries — is perhaps greater on maternal mortality than on any other issue,” the UN Children’s Fund said.

“No other mortality rate is so unequal,” it added.

The risk of a maternal death is one in seven women in Niger as compare to one in Iceland, the agency said in its report on the children around the globe, this year UNICEF focusing on maternal health and neonates.

Approximately, 1,500 women die during pregnancy or childbirth each day, which are more than half a million per year. The death ratio in Africa or Asia is 95 percent. India alone accounts for 22 percent of the global total.

25 percent of these women die from post-partum hemorrhage, 15 percent from bacterial or viral infections, thirteen percent after abortion anomalies, 12 percent die with eclampsia and eight percent from obstructed labor.

The maternal deaths greatly affect the mortality of children, especially during first 28 days, when infants are at greatest risk of diseases.

Babies, whose mother died after the six week of their birth, hardly survive till the second birthday than infants whose mother stay alive, the report said.

In severe conditions as in Afghanistan 75 percent newborn babies whose mother dies after delivering child, die within one month, it added.

UNICEF said that, 80 percent of maternal deaths are preventable if women had access to primary health care at that particular time.

During the whole duration of pregnancy, from the first week to the last, it’s important to take good care of yourself in order to maintain good health of your baby at the time of delivery. Even though, if you have gathered enough knowledge about pregnancy stages, you have to take some precautions and be ever-aware of how what you are going to do and does it cause any harm to your baby. Many women say they’ve never felt healthier than when they carried their children.

In the early days of prenatal care, you may get initial pregnancy signs such as morning sickness, nausea and tiredness. Your body will change internally as well as externally as your baby grows during the nine months of your pregnancy. In this time you need some extra calories from quality nutrition and some thongs to avoid which could affect your baby.

Folic acid

According to the research use of folic acid supplement, one month before pregnancy continued till the end of first trimester could decrease the risk of neural tube defect.

In the metamorphosis neural tube give rise to the nervous system of baby, any abnormality during the formation of neural tube can defect the nervous system of baby.

Iron

Iron is very essential for the expecting mother. As the growth of baby gets start the blood plasma level start to increase, in iron deficient women, red blood cell do not increase with the same rate and women become anemic. This put verse effect on the growth of the baby as it does not feed with the required food and oxygen.

Calcium

The average need of the calcium for a woman is 1g but unfortunately most of the women don’t consume the recommended amount. But during development, baby’s calcium demands are very high. Women should increase their calcium intake to prevent a loss of calcium from your own bones.

Fluids

Plenty of fluids are quite useful for the pregnant women, especially water. A woman’s blood volume increases significantly in pregnancy, and drinking enough may prevent mild problems including dehydration and constipation.

Things to avoid

There are lots of thing from which a pregnant women should abstain as these thing can severely affect baby. These include

Smoking

Drinking

Recreational drugs

Nicotine

Caffeine

Junk food

Over the counter prescribed drugs

The above mention factors are the main causes of prematurity, poor growth, jaundice and severe eye and brain damage.

New findings suggest that the brains of older women perceive upsetting images in different way than young women. It’s a clear indication that the human brain, with the passage of time, learn to handle the bitter experiences of life.

“Older adults are able to show a less reaction to negative emotions,” said Roberto Cabeza, psychologist of Duke University.

Researchers have thought that the older people deal with emotions differently or less reactively than the young, Cabeza said. “Reports have provided us with the fact that there’s a shift in the bias, perhaps a reduction of negative emotions and stress on processing positive emotions,” he said.

For the execution of the theory about brain, Cabeza and his colleagues isolate 15 young of average age 25 and 15 older healthy women with average age 70.

The women were shown pictures chosen to draw positive, neutral and negative responses. In next step, the women were tested to reveal which photos they remembered. The fMRI technology was also implemented to measure neural activity.

Though both groups of women remembered negative images, the older ones memorized lesser than the young women, Cabeza said. Less activity between different neural areas has been examined in the brains of old women.

Why it only happened to the old ladies? “They have suffered negativities in life such as illnesses, death of friends, relatives and spouses,” Cabeza said. “It’s possible with this change and shift, by paying less attention and processing fewer negative events, we’re protecting ourselves from these negative events.”

Paul Sanberg, director of the South Florida University said “Younger people don’t have the bitter experiences in the world. They haven’t seen as many negative things in their lives as the older. That is why they don’t have the experience to cope with those things as much.”

This British study has been published in the journal Neurology 2nd Dec. issue and it adds something to those previous studies which show that many anti-epilepsy drugs including valproate can cause birth defects in babies.

Dr. Michel Berg, the lead author of the study, says in this connection: “Previous data indicates that epilepsy drug like valproate can become the cause of neural tube defects in babies and these drugs also seem to affect brain development.”

Doctors already avoid prescribing valpraote and other epilepsy drugs to pregnant women as well as to those who are planning for it.

“It wouldn’t change practice in a dramatic way, but if there is another option, it provides enough reason to avoid prescribing this drug,” says Dr. Jeffery P. Brosco, who is an associate professor at the University of Miami Miller School.

Some other problems have also been encountered by the drugs used for this condition and some other studies say that pregnant women who use another epilepsy drug known as Topamax alone or with other drugs, they may bear babies with different birth defects.

Calcium and vitamin D supplements seem to do more than just strengthen bones in older women and in younger and active women, it reduces their risk of stress fractures.

Many bone health are referring to a recent study of more than 5,200 female U.S Navy recruits to illustrate that point. The results of the study show that women who don not take additional calcium and vitamin D are around 25 percent more likely to have a stress fracture than women who take these supplements.

Dr. Sabrina Strickland, who is an orthopedic surgeon at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City, says: “When you increase your exercise levels and when you do a lot from doing nothing, it’s the most common time for a stress fracture.”

“Before starting any kind of exercise regimen, one should take calcium and vitamin D supplements to avoid stress fracture,” she added.

Usually when muscles get tired and can’t absorb shock properly, stress fractures occur and more than half of them occur in the lower leg.

Women have more chances to suffer stress fractures and especially those women who involve in just one specific sport like tennis, running, basketball or gymnastic.

According to a new study, risk of developing breast cancer can be predicted by measuring high bone mineral density (BMD) regardless to how high risk is on frequently used Gail model.
To better predict the risk of breast cancer, the two measurements would be used together in tandem, the researchers stated.

It is expected that the findings will be published in the Sept.1 issue of the journal Cancer and it will follow the foot steps of those other researches related to different aspects of breast cancer risk with bone health.

In May, a study that was presented at the American Society of Clinical Oncology showed that Zometa which was used to treat osteoporosis could decrease the risk of recurrence of breast cancer in premenopausal women.

Similarly, another study that has been recently released shows if the women with breast cancer have vitamin D deficiency at the time of diagnosis of the disease, their chances of recurrence of the disease and death are quite higher. Vitamin D is considered essential for healthy bones.
The researchers from the University of Arizona, Tucson, led the study and they incorporated hip BMD information and Gail scores of those 10,000 postmenopausal women who were taking part in the Women’s Health Initiative.
With an average nine years of follow-up, the chances of developing breast cancer were 35 percent higher in women with increased Gail score and there was a 25 percent high risk of developing breast cancer with the increase of each unit in total hip BMD.
Women with the highest BMD and Gail scores had a particularly high risk of developing cancer.

Introduction

Pregnancy is the most concerning period of a woman’s life. It creates a lot of symptoms and perils in a pregnant woman. The pains of abdominal, vomiting, laziness, chronic feeling and stress are the common symptoms of a pregnant woman.

Therefore, she needs a prenatal care. That is the care of a woman before giving birth to a baby. Today we will discuss the care and precautions of pregnancy. These are discussed as under.

1.Nutritional usage

A pregnant woman must consume the required nutrients. She should take the fresh fruits, juices, vegetables, and white meat. The fresh butter, cheese, and milk must be consumed during the course of pregnancy, because it is the overall concern of a new born baby. Moreover, a little use of honey would make the health better. Meanwhile, white fish would be better for the baby’s health. Therefore, a pregnant woman should use some spices’, because it is good for her health. These are the nutritional ingredients, which most of the Gynecologists’ suggest to the pregnant woman.
2.Weight loose therapy

The obesity is the major concern of pregnancy, because it is the issue of growing baby in the belly. The Gynecologists’ suggest that the weight of a pregnant woman must increase about 13.6 kg. This is the ideal size of a pregnant woman. The weight around 15 pounds would not be the standard size of a pregnant woman. The doctors say accordingly that such a weight would loose the woman’s health. Therefore she must increase her weight by 25 to 30 pounds. That is the over all suggestion of the Gynecologists.
3.Usage of Vitamins

A pregnant woman must gain around 1000 mcg of folic acid daily during the time of pregnancy. It is the natural supplement, which develops the physical as well as the cognitive structure of the incoming baby.
4.Usage of drugs

The pregnancy medications are absolutely vital, especially by the consultations of Gynecologists. A pregnant woman must choose a medical doctor before using the drugs of pregnancy. If she uses the pain killers and other pills without consulting the doctor, then she would face a situation that would either become the cause of her death or baby’s ill health. Therefore, the pregnant woman must consult to gynecologist before using the pills of pregnancy.

5.Exercising consultations
The doctors suggest at least 30 minutes of brisk walking to the pregnant women. They say that the exercise is vital for a pregnant woman, because it would keep her happy and relax in reality. In this way, the doctors would suggest the pregnant women to take light exercises.

6.Sexual precautions
The Gynecologists strictly suggest to married couples to stay away from sexual intercourse during the time of pregnancy. Therefore the women should take care of their vagina, and do not allow her husband to make vaginal sex. However, oral sex is allowed to some extent; recommended by the doctors. So, the sexual precautions are counted pretty much during the time of pregnancy.

7.Works load
A pregnant woman should carry any overweight things. She must do light work at home, because it is necessary for her to feed a nutritional diet to her newly coming baby.

Increased chocolate consumption may cause weakening of the bones. The women who eat chocolate everyday tend to develop less dense bones and this prolonged use has more probability of causing ‘osteoporotic fracture’. This has been claimed in one of the research studies conducted by Dr Jonathan Hodgson and his colleague researchers at the ‘Royal Perth Hospital’.

A five year study was conducted among large sections of Australian women over the age of 70. All these women eagerly volunteered for a ‘five-year randomly controlled clinical trial’ of calcium supplementation to prevent fractures due to osteoporosis. A large number of such women participants, 1,001 in total, were involved in this specified study.

Researchers designed a particular questionnaire to study the daily intake of chocolate and other dietary pattern among the participant women. Techniques like the Ultrasound, computed tomography, and X-ray absorptiometry were adopted by the researchers to measure the bone-density and bone-strength. The statistics were then collected on the basis of pre-selected body parameters including the body sites, the heel, the shin and the hip.

At the end of the five years research study period, the researchers applied statistical methods to draw relationship between total chocolate intake and the bone strength and density. Other factors like age, body mass index (BMI), smoking status, physical activity, and other dietary factors that could have influenced the bone condition were also taken into consideration.

Researchers observed on the basis of the collected statistical analysis the at most of the body sites, a straight relationship could be drawn between the increased chocolate consumption with lower mean bone density at most of the body sites. However, it was also observed that there are certain areas of the body like the shin; they seem to be carrying no influence.

This study has various built in loopholes which necessitate the further research so as to confirm the relationship between the chocolate intake and the bone density. In addition to chocolate intake there are various other factors which might affect the bone density in the women. Moreover this fact cannot be generalized for the young groups of the women as the study included only the women over 70 years of age who were unable to walk. The study needs to be redesigned on more solid grounds, according to some experts.

Dr Jonathan Hodgson, the lead researcher also feel that further explorations with “additional cross-sectional and longitudinal studies” would definitely yield enough evidences to” confirm these observations”.

The findings of this study bring in some real concerning voice but it is not completely establishing a detrimental linkage between chocolate consumption and bone health. Researchers however suggest that because of its high fat and sugar content, chocolate should be consumed in moderate amounts.

Human skulls appear same for everyone but the skulls of women is thicker compared to the skulls of the men. Although both, women’s skulls and men’s skulls, have a slower shrinking rate after reaching the adulthood stage.

A recent research study findings with these conclusions have been published in the “Inderscience International Journal of Vehicle Safety”. This study was performed over 3000 people in all.

Jesse Ruan of the’ Ford Motor Company’ and his associate researchers at the ‘Tianjin University of Science and Technology’ have been successful in devising a ‘non-invasive method’ for the determination and analysis of the “critical geometric characteristics of a person’s skull”. For this purpose the researchers based their model on the head scan images of 3000 patients at the Tianjin Fourth central Hospital.

The researchers observed that for men the average thicknesses of the skull was 6.5 millimeters, while for women it was 7.1 mm. The average front to back measurement for men was 176 mm in men, and it was comparatively less in women with the measurement of 171 mm. Similarly, the average width was also measured to be 145 mm in men and 140 mm in women.

The findings of this study clearly confirmed that there exists a sizable difference in the skull thickness between both the genders. The researchers are of the views that they must make further attempts to trace out the mechanisms of translating these differences in to the “head impact responses” for men and women separately.”Then we can design the countermeasure for head protection”, says Jesse Ruan.

It is a general conceptualization that the thickness of the skull is an important factor for deciding the head safety and a bigger sized skull will be far safer for surviving a head injury. This study however, established that it is not the thickness alone, but the shape of the skull is also equally important. Scientists are still making sincere efforts to understand the exact nature, behavior, and relationship between these two important parameters.

A detailed relationship and linkage exploration will perhaps open new findings on how well a person tolerates a head injury. Present methods are purely based on extrapolation of smaller skull to large skull and the skull thickness for predicting the possible impacts and their effects.

Detailed analysis of 300 people responses and examination of different skull parameters however show that the present extrapolation techniques are totally invalid because the distribution of skull size, shape and thickness do not follow a so-called “normal” distribution pattern.

Researchers feel that the “Reliable biomechanical geometric data” of the human skull would be more helpful in developing a better understanding of the problem of head injury during an impact and “will help in the design of better head protective devices”, says Jesse Ruan.
