All you want to know about “Rosacea”

What is Rosacea?

Rosacea is a common skin ailment that results in severe redness of central part of the face like cheeks, nose and forehead. Although rarely, it may also affect other body parts like neck, chest, ears and scalp. It is not a very harmful disease to be scared of; however, if it affects your eyes, you must consult a doctor immediately.

Rosacea Causes

The Demodex folliculorum, better known as the “hair follicle mite”, has a role to play in Rosacea, though it is not yet completely proven. Research shows that Rosacea patients have more number of these mites on their skin than others who don’t suffer from this problem. Another bacteria, Helicobacter pylori, which causes stomach ulcers, is also linked to Rosacea in that it affects the intestines of people and this brings out the symptoms on the skin.

Rosacea Victims

Doctors suggest that Rosacea can affect both men and women, normally after 30 years of age. People who blush a lot and have fair skin are most likely to be attacked by Rosacea. Those who are exposed to extreme temperatures, severe sunburn, strenuous activities, anxiety and sudden movement from warm to cold environment or vice versa, are more prone to this disease as their face gets flushed out very easily. People who consume a lot of alcohol, caffeine-rich foods and beverages, spicy foods and foods that contain high level of histamine (such as red wine, yogurt and beer) indirectly attract Rosacea.

Rosacea Symptoms

Rosacea has some resemblance with the more common “acne” but in case of the former, the blood vessels swell up and become more prominent like a spider web on the face. Other symptoms are:- A “bulbous” or thick nose, mostly seen in case of men. Red, acne-like eruptions on the skin that may be filled with pus. Burning sensation or itching on the face. Red and watery eyes for most of the time.

Rosacea Related problems

Often, people fail to differentiate between common acne and Rosacea, since the way it affects the skin is quite similar. As a result, people leave it unattended and let the disease do the damage. Besides physically affecting the skin of people, Rosacea also causes mental harm to patients as it lowers their self confidence and makes them reluctant to socialize due to their looks.

Rosacea Treatment

Doctors prescribe topical antibiotic like Metrogel and sulfacetamide or even oral medicines to bring the redness in control. Also, broad-spectrum sunscreen lotions that provide good protection from the harmful UV rays of the sun are a good way to prevent the initial attack of Rosacea. For those who develop a bulbous nose or get acute acne and redness, consultation with a dermatologist for cosmetic surgery is the last resort.

Spring is a great time of the year, when you can say good bye to your warm winter clothes and gear up for the oncoming bikini season. This is the time to shake yourself out of the hibernation mode and we have just the expert tips that you have been looking for to slim down in spring.

Eat local, Eat fresh!

If you have been wondering how to slim down fast this spring, the best way to do so is by including plenty of green vegetables and fruits in your daily diet and this ought to work wonders. Always remember to purchase local specialties as they are fresh and delicious than the exotic produce that is frozen and flown from half way across the world. This is one of the best ways to slim down fast this spring. Make sure you also include whole foods, lean protein and good fats, lots of fiber and low carb food items in your diet.

Also along with eating fresh and local produce, remember to have at least three balanced meals every day. However if you are really serious about slimming down in spring, you could break up your meals into smaller portions and increase your number of meals. This not only helps control hunger pangs and any cravings that you may have, but it also helps you lose a lot of weight and this is one of the tried and tested ways to slim down in spring.

Spring Cleaning:

If you thought spring cleaning was just for your home, think again! For those who have been wondering how to slim down, this is another great way to slim down fast. A whole body cleanse is just what your body needs if you want to slim down in spring. Not only does it cleanse you entire internal system, but it helps you shed some of the winter fat that you have accumulated and it also helps you detoxify thus leaving you glowing after your cleansing routine. This whole body cleanse can range from a few days to a couple of weeks. Make sure you include a gentle laxative formula, a fiber formula as well as a liver detoxification formula in your cleansing routine and couple it with a balanced and recommended eating plan. If you strict to the routine you could even lose up to 5 pounds in just two weeks.

Exercise:

Another “how to slim down fast” tip is to follow a dedicated fitness regime. While soaking up some sun does help boost your health, exercising does wonders and it is one of the best ways to slim down fast. Depending on your preference you can either join a gym to work out, break into a sweat and burn calories or you could consider taking outdoor exercise classes under a trained instructor.

If you do not particularly enjoy working out, you could also engage yourself in other psychical activities such as swimming, cycling, horse riding, aerobics, going for a walk or even taking up dance lessons to help you slim down in spring. If you are a regular at the gym, but you are worried about the monotony getting to you, make sure you work out with a fitness buddy who can keep you motivated and with whom you can share the challenges of having to work out regularly, eating right as well as planning your meals and work out times. This definitely is a great ways to slim down fast as it makes work out a fun activity rather than a boring routine.

Don’t forget to stay hydrated!

Another “how to slim down fast” tip is to stay hydrated all the time. Drinking water while you are walking or working out is a must as this helps you slim down in spring. It is recommended that you drink at least a couple of glasses an hour before you work out and take a sip every half an hour while you work out and gulp down at least another 8 oz of water towards the end of your workout regime or walk. Apart from this make sure that you consume adequate water throughout the day. This not only helps you slim down in spring but it also flushes out all the toxins from your body and leaves you feeling fresh and rejuvenated.

Stretch:

Stretches are also a great way to slim down fast and have best results when you perform them after you cool down post your workout session. Make sure you follow tired and tested stretches from reputed trainers for maximum effect. Lunge and Reach is one such popular stretch that is a great way to slim down fast. All you need to do is stand with you right foot in front of your left and take a huge lunge by bending the right knee and keeping your left leg staring with your heel on the ground while stretching your calf and hip. Now stretch the left arm over your head all the way to the right and enjoy the stretch. Hold for as long as comfortable and then switch sides. Make sure you repeat this stretch three times all together.

Fitness plan and goals:

Another tip for those wondering how to slim down fast this spring is to set a goal and stick to it. Once you set a goal and devise a fitness plan to reach your ultimate goal, this should keep you motivated enough to help you successfully slim down fast in spring and get in shape and all set for the bikini season.

Little Miracle Mission Programs aims to safeguard, support and facilitate the kids. On 11th of April, employees with Vic Mills i.e. the founder of Pampers and inventor of Pampers diapers gathered with their kids to honor the progress of parenting and the role played by the Pampers at headquarters of P&G Baby Care. Pampers has also launched a TV ad to celebrate “Every baby as a little miracle”.

How can you protect your thyroid from radiation?

Thyroid is one of the largest and is the most important endocrine gland in the human body. This butterfly shaped gland is located in the neck, below the thyroid cartilage, at the same level as cricoids cartilage.

The thyroid gland produces the thyroid hormone, which is carried to almost every tissue of the body by the blood. It primarily determines how fast the body uses energy and also makes proteins. In addition, it also plays an important role in the sensitiveness of the complex human body to other hormones and also helps keeping the body warm. The regular functioning of thyroid requires iodine and this iodine is usually absorbed by the thyroid gland from the bloodstream. A common phenomenon during nuclear accidents is the release of radioactive iodine. The human body and in particular the thyroid gland due to its iodine absorbing nature starts to absorb this radioactive iodine from the atmosphere which can be a huge cause for concern. The absorption of this radioactive iodine is dangerous as it can lead to the development of thyroid cancer over a period of time. The effect is more predominant in young people including infants and those below the age of 40 as they are at maximum risk of developing thyroid cancer due to exposure to radioactive iodine.
Things you can do to protect your thyroid from radiation

Potassium Iodide:

Potassium Iodide is similar to the regular iodized table salt. It basically floods the thyroid with iodine thereby preventing the thyroid from absorbing radioactive iodine. When taken at the appropriate time, it can also prevent absorption of radioactive iodine from additional food sources such as milk, air, food and water.

Potassium Iodide is a non prescription drug, which can be easily purchased over the counter as well as over the internet. It has a shelf life of at least 5 years and can be effective even up to 11 years is packed properly. However if an “expired” pill is consumed, though it may not reduce the impact of radioactive iodine, it may not be harmful.

Medical Drugs:

Alternate forms of Potassium Iodide available in the form of medical drugs also help protect your thyroid from radiation. However care should be taken that these medicines have been approved by the appropriate drug regulating agency. In the United Students, FDA approved drugs are available both in the form of tablets and solution. 130 mg tablets of Iosat and 65 mg tablets of ThyroSafe are recommended by the Food and Drug Administration to help protect the thyroid from radiation. A 65 mg/ml solution of ThyroShield is also approved but it should be noted that these drugs should not be taken in arbitrary doses and it is necessary to consult an experienced medical practitioner before consumption. These drugs when taken in excesses or in overdoses can lead to severe side effects. As the nuclear accidents are not common place occurrence, not every medical practitioner would have proficiency about these drugs and it is necessary to consult doctors who have been working in the field of radiation.

Precautions:

Potassium Iodide has been found to be safe by millions of people. However, there have also been cases wherein the patient has developed serious side-effects. People who have been allergic to potassium iodide should not take potassium iodide and look for some other alternative options.

Distribution:

In case of scarcity of potassium iodide, children and babies are to be first given potassium iodide as they have been observed to be most susceptible to the radioactive iodine. People above the age of 40 do not absorb the radioactive iodine easily and can delay their consumption of potassium iodide.

Doses:

The FDA has recommended a dosage of 15 mg for children between 0-1 months and a dosage of 30-35 mg for children between 1 month and 3 years. For 3-12 years, the dosage has to be 65 mg whereas the dosage for older people has to be greater than 130 mg. A 130 mg pill can be dissolved in 8 oz of clear liquid and 1 oz of this mixture can be fed to 0-1 months kid to constitute a 15 mg dose.

Stockpiling:

Nuclear plants are widespread throughout the world and people living near these plants very often should take adequate safety precautions. One of the common safety precautions that inhabitants near nuclear plants take is stockpiling Potassium Iodide tablets. In the unfortunate event of nuclear accidents, the effect of radioactive iodine can be minimized by immediately taking the specified doses of iodine. It is a good idea to stockpile these tablets because it has been seen in the past that the prices of these tablets often skyrockets in the case of a nuclear accident.

Evacuation:

Potassium Iodide should be considered as an adjunct to evacuation and not a total solution to exposure to radiation. Contaminated substances including milk, water and other food items should be totally avoided. However, potassium iodide must be compulsorily administered to all citizens before any evacuation is scheduled.

Potassium iodide tablets are effective in preventing the thyroid gland from absorbing iodine for about 24 hours. A single dose per day is highly advised until the risk no longer exists. It should be noted that not all radioactive releases lead to the absorption of radioactive iodine by the thyroid. Usually, local authorities inform the people in the surrounding areas on the need to take potassium iodide.

Protein is a nutrient that the human body requires for maintenance and growth. Apart from water in the body, protein is the second most abundantly found molecule in the body. Protein is also one of the most important components of an individual’s diet as it is only through proteins that a human being gains essential amino acids that helps form blood cells in the body. It is also the main component of all the other cells in the body which includes hair, nails, skin, muscles and even body organs.

Given their importance in formation of new cells as well as repairing damaged tissues, protein is one of the key nutrients that every sports person swears by. Till few years back a high protein diet plan was something that every sports person followed in order to build new tissues, muscles and also repair the damaged ones. However with growing health awareness today, dieters too follow protein diet plan to stay fit and healthy and also lose weight in the process. Given below are some of the benefits of a high protein diet plan.

Benefits of Protein

A protein rich diet helps to provide energy to the body that it requires.

Proteins in the protein diet plan helps rebuild tissue, which is most useful for athletes, body builders and weight lifters, who might be susceptible to muscle injury due to the intensive training that they undergo.

Proteins help eliminate carbohydrates and also reduce the fluid content in the human body by helping the human body get rid of all the excess body fluids.

High protein diet also boosts antioxidant levels in the body, thus preventing infections and other illnesses including cancer.

Sources of protein

A high protein diet plan should consist of high protein food items as well as food items low on carbohydrates for the best results, especially if your end result is weight loss.

Food items such as milk, fish, meat, vegetables, nuts and egg are rich in protein and should be a part of any high protein diet plan. Apart from whole food items, protein powders such as whey, casein and soy that are processed and manufactured sources of protein should also be a part of a protein diet plan. While choosing meat, make sure that you choose only lean meat such as lean bacon lean ham, turkey meat, salmon or chicken. Vegetable such as broccoli, cauliflower, asparagus, mushrooms, tomatoes, lettuce, Brussels sprouts are high in protein and should be included in your high protein diet plan. Bananas, strawberries, oranges, apples, dates, figs, blueberries are some fruits that have high protein content and should be included in your high protein diet plan. Apart from these dairy products such as cottage cheese, milk, yoghurt and other types of cheeses are also high in protein.

While you are on a high protein diet plan there are a number of tips that you should keep in mind if you want to benefit from your protein diet plan. Given below are some of the tips.

Drink Water Benefits

The first thing that you need to remember while you are on a high protein diet plan is that you will have to consume at least eight to ten glasses of water as your body requires more water in order to metabolize all the protein that you consume.

Include carbohydrates in your diet

One of the major side effects of a high protein diet plan is that it often causes fatigue and constipation. People following a high protein diet plan often experience fatigue in the afternoons when the body has consumed all the energy. To prevent this from happening, make sure you also include a snack that contains carbohydrates in it, which helps restore the lost sugar. In order to deal with constipation, eat plenty of fresh vegetables and fruits.

Break up your meals

Dividing you meals into smaller portions is a trick that all dieters follow, especially if you are on a protein diet plan. This is a great way to convince your body that you are not on a diet and it also helps keep away hunger pangs that you are sure to experience when you just have three meals with a long gap between each meal.

Health Benefits of Cheese

The term cheese is used to indicate a diverse range of milk based food products that are prepared using milk from cows, goats, buffalo or sheep. All across the world, cheese is produced in a variety of flavors, forms and textures. A variety of herbs and spices as well as wood smoke are used as flavoring agents while preparing cheese.

Cheese can be prepared from low fat, whole of skimmed milk or even combinations of these and is a great source of phosphorus, proteins, calcium and fat. Though it is true that cheese can be fattening, it does have a lot of benefits. Essentially cheese contains all the nutritional benefits of milk and given below are some of the health benefits of cheese.

Excellent source of protein

One of the main benefits of cheese is that it is an excellent source of protein. In fact the protein in cheese is of the best quality and it contains all the basic essential amino acids that a human body requires for maintenance of muscles as well as for optimum growth. The protein content in different types of cheese usually varies between 20 to 35 percent.

Excellent source of calcium

One of the other cheese health benefits is that it is an excellent source of calcium, which makes it great for your teeth and bones. Cheese is also known to stimulate the salivary glands to secrete saliva that helps clean the mouth by washing away sugars and acids and it is also known to reduce plaque. Calcium is also essential for strengthening your bones and prevents osteoporosis, a condition that is caused mainly due to the deficiency of calcium, which causes the bone density to fall. Thus this is one another major cheese health benefits. So for healthy teeth and bones just remember that you will have to include low fat cheese to your diet!

Excellent for women in general

Women seem to enjoy the health benefits of cheese whether they are pregnant or just suffering from PMS. It is a known fact that food that is rich in calcium is great for expecting women. One of the benefits of cheese is that it helps simulate contractions during labor and also helps produce milk in the mother’s body. However despite the cheese health benefits, pregnant women are advised to choose the right type of cheese and avoid blue veined cheese, mould ripened cheese and soft cheese as these types of cheese allows bacterial growth and this could harm the fetus. Other benefits of cheese also include reducing or even preventing some of the symptoms that are associated with PMS.

Excellent source of vitamins and minerals

Apart from calcium, cheese is also an excellent source of other minerals and vitamins which is also another health benefits of cheese. Cheese contains plenty of vitamins such as vitamin A, vitamin B2 and vitamin b12 and vitamin D. Vitamin A is essential for healthy skin and eyes. Vitamin B is known to aid in proper absorption and distribution of the calcium present in cheese. Vitamin B is also good for men, women and children of all age group as it helps form and strengthens bones and cartilage. Vitamin B12 is known to prevent pernicious anemia. Apart from these vitamins, cheese is also a good source of other minerals such as phosphorus, zinc, iodine, magnesium and sodium.

Apart from these cheese health benefits, cheese is also known to prevent cancer, boost your immune system and lower your blood pressure. However always remember to consume cheese along with other healthy food items and make sure you only have low fat cheese to make the most of cheese health benefits.

How to Find an Experienced Surgeon?

Finding a good surgeon with specialty has a simple rule of choosing a surgeon is going to the specialty hospital wherein you can find a team of specialists and not a single prominent or popular surgeon with a number of helping hands. This specialty hospital can get the popular and experienced surgeon to their hospital.

Opinion of physician

The second simple step is to always go to the referred surgeon by your general physician with whom you find working on your health issues comfortable and practically logic. Ask about the reputation of the surgeon from someone who has had prior experience with him through your friends and family. Your family doctor is the right person who will be able to tell you who the right person who can give professional comments and ways to deal with the referred surgeon.

Online Experienced Surgeon

There are a number of websites that will allow patients to rate their experiences and specific comments with some doctors having specific forums and discussion groups and offer recommendations. Not many are quite particular about this, for many of the popular surgeons find this more time consuming, unless they could hire someone to do this promotion for them.

Health and Medical Journals

There are a number of health and medical journals from which you can read from which you can learn and know more information from the articles on various issues and problems in health. These journals also provide articles and information on various medical developments in the Treatment techniques and doctors receiving training in these methods. The medical journals sometime put the specialist surgeons in the limelight that will also provide you additional details and idea about the doctor and their hospitals. Some of the popular sites for knowing more of surgeons online from the journals and health articles are like prevention.com, familydoctormag.com and theheatlhjournals.com.

How we can Judge the Good Surgeon?

When you have the first visit with the doctor, do not venture directly into the surgery. Have two or more visits to other surgeons in the same field, if you are not satisfied with him. However, this will depend on the professional network and is good to be frank with your family physician if you find any difficulties in dealing with a surgeon or there is an unquestionable need then should request to change the surgeon, for example a personal grudge.

Ask questions for Health Issues

Moreover, get someone to help you and have a list of questions and issues that you would like to discuss with you about the surgery, and ask him as much as possible, for both before and after the surgery.

Once you are happy and satisfied, you can fix up with the date for the surgery with surgeon who makes you feel comfortable.

What is UTI?

The Urinary tract infection is the most common kind of infection that affectsthe urinary tracts. Urine or pee is the fluid filtered out from the bloodstream into the kidneys and passes through a number of filters of the kidneys and is therefore one of the most sterile solutions coming out of your body.

The urine is composed of water, salts, and other waste products. However, when the bacteria can get into the bladder or kidney, and multiply in the urine, this will result in urinary tract infection (UTI).

Type’s of UTI

If the bacteria infects only the urethra, the short passage that delivers the urine out from the bladder via the urethral opening, will result in infection and inflammation of the urethra, called urethritis.

b.	If the infection gets into the bladder, this is called cystitis.

c.	If the infection, spreads further inside the kidney itself this is known as pyelonephritis. Person suffering from this type of UTI.

Symptoms of UTI

Back pain, High fever, Vomiting,

These three types of infection of the urinary tract, bladder infection is the most common one resulting in immense discomfort and inconvenience. This can be quickly treated and healed completely before reaching the kidneys.

The common etiological agent causing UTI are E. coli, that is normally found in the digestive tract and in the regions of the skin in and around the rectal and vaginal areas. These bacteria, if disturbed can enter the urethral channel up into the bladder.

Reason’s of UTI?

UTI is quite common with women than men, because the length of the urethral channel in women is much smaller, and the presence of vagina brings the rectum, vagina and urethra all the three openings closer to each other unlike men having only rectal opening quite far located than urethral opening. Abnormalities in the urethral channel and backward flow of urine and refluxes in the bladders are some of the reasons for urinary tract infections.

The bacterium enters the kidney by a number of modes like sexual intercourse, back to front bowel movements, unhygienic toilet practices that beings forward the bacterium form the rectum, use of spermicides and sexually transmitted diseases. Urinary tract infection if left untreated will lead to pelvic inflammatory disease that can be fatal.

Some of the common symptoms of UTI are frequent urination with burning or pain, pain in the lower abdomen with no urination, full feeling in the rectum of men, bloody and foul smelling urine with mild fever to general felling of shakiness or fatigue. Symptoms that are more serious will include high fever, chills, nausea and vomiting with abdominal pain followed by cloudy and bloody urine with pain in the back, above the waist.

Treatment of UTI

The best way to treat the bacteria is by seeking the assistance of health care provider. The doctor will first confirm the presence of urinary tract infection after cleaning the genital areas with disposable wipes in a bacteria free cup.

The infection is treated by giving a few courses of antibiotics depending on the sensitivity of the bacterium. The doctor usually prescribes based on the results from the urine culture and switches between the types of antibiotics.

For immediate relief of the pain, the doctors recommend medications for pain relief and antispasmatics for relieving pain and spasm in the bladder. These medications will turn your urine to bright orange color but is harmless and is more relieving after intake.

The antibiotics are usually prescribed initially for three days followed by administration for 7 to 14 days. The entire course of antibiotics has to be finished to prevent recurrence and hygienic practice is highly essential during and after this period to ensure recurrence of infection.

The more you urinate the quicker you will be healed, and therefore the patients are asked to drink plenty of water and sometimes, when the infection is severe are given glucose parenterally.

Certain lifestyle habits to be avoided are coffee, spicy foods and quit smoking. Smoking has been observed to aggravate the problem. Abstinence during and after the treatment period to the complete cure stage is the best way to avoid further spread of infection and recurrence.

Methods to avoid the occurrence of urinary tract infections

1.	Wiping from the front to back after urination and fecating while using toilet paper will avoid the spread of bacteria.

2.	Avoidance of holding urine for a long time will prevent the reflux of the urine reaching the urethra to get back with bacteria.

3.	Keeping the genital areas clean and use clean water while bathing.

4.	Avoid wearing tight inner garments and nylon and wet swimsuits for longer period.

5.	People with prior UTI can have cranberry juice that boosts the immune system.

6.	Women who have attained menopausal stages should use cream or water to

keep the vagina wet and prevent UTI.

HOSPITAL ACQUIRED INFECTIONS

A patient who contracts an infection while after 48 hours in hospital is said to have a hospital acquired infection. These infections can be caused by viral, bacterial and fungal pathogens. These are grouped into three categories :

Response to medical or surgical treatment

Organizational risk factors.

Patient risk factors.

It is estimated that about one in ten patients contract HAIs. Many different types of infectious diseases may arise with a hospital acquired, the most common of which are urinary tract infections, lung, wound and blood infections.

There are effective treatments for HAI but it depends on the nature and cause of the infection including antifungal, antibacterials and antivirals. Drug resistance is a challenging factor in HAI and it is generally accepted that this is caused by inappropriate use and over prescribing antibiotics. Methicillin resistant staphylococcus aureus( bacteria) is the highest rate of infection and it makes up 44% of all HAIS. To tackle this problem of HAI, the government is taking action to improve patient’s environment which includes entrances, ward, visitor toilets, cleanliness, decoration and quality of hospital food.

There are some practical steps that can be adopted to minimize the patient from risk of contracting HAIS which includes the patient should be neatly bathed before coming to hostpital, the visitor should be asked to wear newly laundered dresses, visitor should also freshly bathed before coming to hospital, the number of visitors to be restricted strictly and they should not sit in the bed, the isolated patients should not have any visitor, the staff and visitor should wash their hands neatly before going inside the ward, the medical wipes should be used to clean the hands after using bedpans and the patient should be educated to replace the bed sheet then and there on their own and he should be taught to clean the bedside rubbish frequently.

Basal cell carcinoma is a type of cancer in the skin that is because of malignant epithelial cell tumor, which begins as a papule, a small, circumscribed solid elevation of the skin, and enlarges peripherally with crusts and bleeding. Metastasis is rare; however, local invasion of the underlying tissue will destroy the adjacent tissue.
Basal cell carcinoma is the most common and the least lethal form of cancers. This accounts for nearly 90 percent of the cancer cases in the US. This type of cancer is quite common in Caucasians. The risk of cancer is related to the amount of sun exposure and pigmentation in the skin. The longer the exposure to the sun, the higher the chances for occurrence of cancer.

The cancer is classified into three types based on the area of localization:

The most common type of basal cell carcinoma is expressed as nodular, flesh colored (creamish to pinkish nodules), or round or oval translucent nodule with the overlying small blood vessels and a pearly appearing rolled border.
The second type of basal cell carcinoma is due to the presence of pigmented lesions. These lesions are darker than the nodular type, appearing blue, brown or black in colour.

Superficial Basal Cell Carcinoma:

The third type of basal cell carcinoma is the superficial type of cancer that appears as red, scaly with localized plaque. This type of cancer is often confused with psoriasis or eczema.

The other types of basal cell carcinoma have been divided into the following types:

Nodular basal cell carcinoma, cystic basal cell carcinoma, cicatricial basal cell carcinoma, infiltrative basal cell carcinoma, micro nodular basal cell carcinoma, superficial basal cell carcinoma, superficial basal cell carcinoma, pigmented basal cell carcinoma, rodent ulcer, fibroepithelioma of Pinkus, polypoid basal cell carcinoma, pore-like basal cell carcinoma and aberrant basal cell carcinoma.
Prevention of basal cell carcinoma is by using sunscreens to prevent sun damage. The use of chemotherapeutic agent such as 5-Fluorouracil or imiquimod that can prevent the development of cancer. Some of the other basal cell carcinoma treatment methods are by adopting standard surgical excision, Mohs surgery and chemotherapy like the use of 5-Fluorouracil.
Immunotherapy, radiation, photodynamic therapy, electrodessication and curettage, and cryosurgery are some of the most common methods to treat basal cell carcinoma.
