Is it usual to have numbness when you sprain your ankle?

Usually there is pain but sometime there may be slight numbness of the skin distal to the ankle. However, deeper pressure will be felt and it is not a total loss of sensation. You should have it checked up just in case there are other underlying causes beyond just a “simple” ankle sprain.
