    The gallbladder stores bile which is necessary for emulsifying fats in the gut. It also helps the body excrete waste substances from metabolic processes. It lies “under the liver” in the right upper quadrant of the abdomen. There are extensive articles on this subject on the internet with pictures to give you a better idea of the location.
