Children who born prematurely, before three months or more, are more likely to develop autism, a new U.S. study reported.

With the measurement of standard screening tool researchers found that, such kids are two to three times more prone to exhibit autism signs than the normal kids at the age of two years.

Autism also referred as autism spectrum disorders (ASD); that is a group of developmental disorders, illustrated as impaired social interaction and communication, and by constrained and repetitive behavior. ASD have strong genetic basis but the exact cause is still unknown.

Dr. Karl Kuban said, the elevated risk of autism indicated in these children may not be directly associated with premature birth. In spite of it, cause of autism, whatever it is, may force pre-term birth.

The researchers analyzed the 988 American prematurely born kids, at least 90 days before their expected birth date.

Aspirin may neutralize the adverse effect of paracetamol or excessive drinking to save liver, researches said.

The Yale University team, founds that use of aspirin can reduce the death risk in mice given a paracetamol overdose.

The phenomenon behind, it intercepts the chemical pathway that initiate inflammation within the organ. However the use of aspirin for this purpose in human is not known.

Cases of liver cirrhosis are rising day by day in the UK. The major reason behind is the extensive use of alcohol or the paracetamol overdose that contribute to more than hundred death per year.

Scientists are trying to find out the reason of liver damage due to paracetamol and alcohol. They also working on the start of chain reaction, triggered after the onset of inflammation caused by these two chemicals. The inflammation represents the high degree of liver damage.

In this latest research, scientists found that the death rate can be minimized in the mice being given with high dose of paracetamol, if a small dose of aspirin is also given.

Steroids, used to treat cold and wheezing in children, are ineffective and may cause some harmful effects, according to new research. Toddlers, who brought to the various hospitals of U.K with attack of wheezing, were treated with prednisolone. They all stayed at the hospitals for the same span of time as other children were treated with placebo.

Another study includes Canadian children who were using fluticasone as a preventive measure for wheezing, expressed moderate development, but the side effect of underdeveloped growth was far more than the benefits. Researchers said.

“It is distressing to count needless courses of prednisolone have been given in the past few years, in good faith, because we all assumed that preschool children are little adults,” Dr. Andrew Bush reported.

Wheezing is a kind of whistling that occur when a part of the respiratory tree get narrow or obstructed. This symptom occurs mostly in the asthmatic patients during exhale and this frightening noise may force parents to take their children to the hospitals. As a first aid, hospitals treat patients with steroids to open up the obstructed passage but this treatment is failed to cure transient wheezing in children.
